Blog Frustrations!!! This is a test!

I have been trying to switch from doing my blog posts on the computer to doing them on my iPad. The reason for this is that our computer is very old, and we will probably get rid of it soon (if it doesn't die first). And besides, all the pictures I want to post are on my iPad. Simple, I thought, right?? WRONG!!

When I set up my blog it was linked to my AOL email address. I have since added a gmail account, and that is the only address that the iPad seemed to recognize. So I could bring up my blog on the iPad, but it would not let me do anything but read it. If I tried to figure out how to do anything else I would get the message that I am not the author of a blog, but they would love for me to start one. I did not want to start a new blog--I just wanted to post on the blog that I have had for several years!!

After many hours and much frustration on my part, many text messages and a phone call with my very patient daughter, Rachel, it became clear that I had to somehow get my aol account to be accepted on the iPad. This also was easier said than done. It was complicated by the fact that when I set up the blog using the aol account, it was with a password that was probably 5 passwords ago. On the computer that password was saved, so I didn't need to enter it there, but I needed to on the iPad. So, another password change.

Somehow, through trial and error, I was able to add the aol account with the new password, on the iPad. And I was able to get to this place that is hopefully allowing me to write a new post. I will believe it when I see it!

This barely scratches the surface in describing all the dead ends I ran into in this process and my level of frustration over the whole situation. You can ask Bob about that. 😖  But I guess I am too stubborn to give up on it, and hopefully my persistence paid off. (Nevertheless, she persisted!)

I did learn a few things:

-When you click on the "help" or "troubleshoot" links on Blogger, none of the options they give really fit your particular problem.

-When you click on the "submit feedback" link, vent your frustration, and hit "send," your message goes into a "black hole" and you never get a response.

-And the main thing I've learned is that I am WAY TOO OLD for all this technology!!

Now, we'll see if this actually works. Here's hoping!
